Boomer Biker Fav in Show
😃 What a pleasant surprise! My portrait of an aging Boomer has gotten so much attention in the recent international gallery Exhibizone Exhibition on the theme of "Aging."
I hired him to sit for my artist group because he looked interesting and had a genial disposition. He called himself, 'Harley Hal.'
Looking at the other entries (100 entries from all over the world), many have somber tones, depicting the oft times sad reality of getting older. I've pictured him looking wistful, as we told him to sit and think of the best parts of his life so far.
On behalf of those who are doing our best to age with positivity and grace, my hat is off to folks like 'Harley Hal,' who chooses to 'never give in to negativity.'
We had several discussions about his decision to keep POSITIVE, despite the aches and pains and inevitable losses that accompany the body as we age. He presented as a man of faith, who blessed God that he'd survived so many 'stupid-ass decisions' in his earlier life. When you ask Hal, "How are you?" he's always say, "Better than I deserve, through the grace of God." 🙏
I thought of him in church one Sunday when Pastor Glenn said the same thing.
Now that's something to consider, isn't it?!😇
