I hope you’ll find this addition to the Spiritual Awakenings series impactful. My aim was to capture the luminous vastness of divine presence and protection.
No matter where in the world I’ve traveled, stargazing is a favorite pastime. Even in the years before I was willing to accept theological evidence of a creator, stars have always filled me with a sense of wonder and majesty; they symbolize guidance, hope, and the connection between the heaven and earth. (On my first visit to Australia, I was surprised to see a totally new field of stars in the southern hemisphere!)
When considering this topic, I was also inspired by SO many scriptures that declare the wonder and majesty of God through the cosmos. Jeremiah 32:17 says, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” (NIV)
An anonymous critic said, “The composition is a powerful reminder that we are all held in the loving embrace of a higher power, watched over with care and compassion.” (Thanks, Chat GPT!) My attempt was to create a sense of peace and infinite grace.
