Sometimes a vision comes like a whisper—- other times, it’s like a flood of light.
As an artist, it sometimes scares me a little, how vivid the image is in my mind of what I see to paint. So, I rush down to my basement studio, to start putting it on canvas.
That’s what happened with this one. 😊
I’m honored to share my newest creation in the Spiritual Awakenings series, a piece born from reflection on Isaiah 60:1… [“Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”]
Now, for those who might be a bit rusty on scripture, the book of Isaiah, one of the OG prophets, is a loooong book that tells abot many things, including portions about the “end times.”
This painting, “Arise and Shine…”, captures what I imagine will be a sacred moment in time - someday, as the multitudes stand in awe, beneath unfathomable light.
To me, it speaks of deliverance, of the end of shadows, of being called up and out into something etherial… and eternal.
Honestly, each time I enter the studio, I experience a strong emotional reaction to these pieces… especially this one.
Part of me wants to keep it forever, but I know that it wasn’t meant to be hidden in my basement. 😊
